Door to Door service
We like our clients to feel part of a close group of friends and family, so unlike many other care facilities, our clients are collected and dropped back home personally by our carers. We have Wheelchair accessible transport, if required, and the centre is fully wheelchair accessible.
At the Day Care centre, we are keen to ensure that clients are able to utilise new technology, so we have a desktop computer with internet access available to clients, and we support clients to use the computer if required. We also have a Wii GamePad which provides clients with co-ordination training and brain games.
A choice of hot meals are always provided, with care taken to cater for special diets. Clients are offered breakfast on arrival, a two course meal for lunch, with hot and cold drinks and snacks available at all times. Care is ALWAYS taken to monitor people's likes and dislikes, and menus are planned accordingly. Clients are encouraged to help with activities such as setting and clearing tables, and pouring drinks.
Whilst at the center there is a large variety of activities to be enjoyed,
with each day a little different. We encourage clients to maintain and
develop their everyday skills, and so we have regular cooking and
baking session, woodworking sessions and a variety of gardening
Dawn Henderson, our day care centre supervisor, is trained in Our Organisation Makes People Happy (OOMPH) Wellness Training. Oomph! provides a set of complementary services to enhance the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of older adults.
Massage and BIOPTRON Light Therapy
Clients can also enjoy a little pamper session, and a massage conducted on site by Joanna.
In addition, we also have a BIOPTRON Light therapy unit. This is a safe, effective and economical therapy for everybody, everywhere, anytime. The BIOPTRON Light Therapy System is clinically tested, proven & certified for the medical treatment of: pain management, anti-aging, inflammatory diseases and many others.

Local outings can be arranged (and can be weather dependent!) to Castle Park, Ullswater Lake, garden centres, coffee/tea/cake afternoons, and if there is something of interest being exhibited at Rheged Exhibition Centre, we can arrange to go along.
Other activities include, regular sing-alongs, usually on a Monday, which is great for clients and staff! Arts and crafts, mental stimulation games, stretching or gentle exercises, puzzles, birthday celebrations, gardening and discussion groups. If you would like to see an additional service, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
